DGR Attends Derby Ink Invitational/ReverbNation Concert Series - Part II

The Derby Ink Invitational/ReverbNation Concert Series

An epic 3-day high octane arts and entertainment event fueled by a 500+ tattoo-vendor expo featuring over 200 masters of tattoo artistry, a fast paced banked-track roller derby tournament with $20K in cash prizes broadcast live on pay-per-view, unparalleled artistic gallery displays and live hard-core rock bands that will bring the house down.

This is how their adverts read, and to those that were in attendance for the three day event, including yours truly, the above description was a total understatement.

Having been my first roller derby experience, aside from having watched it on the television quite some years ago, I was immediately drawn into the fast paced and exciting world of roller derby.

I have been to my share of Expo's and Conventions in all my years, and I must say that this one was ran very well, seemed to go fairly smoothly and I must give props to all those people that put this together, being their first year, as they did an amazing job. I did speak with one of the coordinators and they actually weren't sure if they were going to have another event next year, when I replied that would be such an injustice.  Once you get all of the hiccups out of the way, things will always run that much smoother.  You are always better off the second year in because you know which mistakes not to make like the inaugural year.

I would suggest that anyone into Roller Derby, Tattooing and Live Bands trek out to Harrisburg PA should be hold their sophomore event as I will be there hands down. We're actually awaiting news of if and when that will be going down so that DarkGift Radio can reserve their vendor table and actually be a part of their next event. Hell, maybe even do a live radio broadcast from the venue, that would be killer.

Everyone we came in contact with was downright nice to all of us and the bands that we saw were kick ass. Props to Scars of Envy of Red Bank NJ and AUG of Wallington, NJ.  Should you want to bookmark their url for news and updates, you can goto DerbyInk.Net for more information.

Thanks again to everyone at Derby Ink Invitational for putting on an awesome event and look forward to next years show.
